A Terrorist Attack Brings War

In June of 1914, Franz Ferdinand visited the Bosnian capital of Sarajevo with his wife. They both were shot by an assassin named Gavilo Princip . This assassination hoped to start war that would bring down the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Because of this event, the alliances were triggered. The Austro-Hungarian government blamed Serbia for the attack and decided to crush Serbia to prevent Slavic nationalism to underestimate its empire. Assuming that the attack on Serbia might trigger a war with Russia, Austrians asked their allies who are the Germans for support. Germans promised support. The Serbs counted on Russia for back up and the Russians counted on France for back up. On July 28th, Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia. On August 1st Germany declared war on Russia. Two days later it declared war on France. World War 1 has now begun.
